FCT Minister Wike has revealed the shocking truth about how you can reach Tinubu.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike, has defended President Bola Tinubu against claims that his administration is distant and unapproachable, revealing the proper channels through which citizens can engage with the government.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday, Wike explained that expecting the president to personally handle every citizen’s concerns is a misunderstanding of how governance functions. “When you say Mr. President is unapproachable, and the government is unapproachable, what do you call government?” he questioned.

Wike emphasized that the structure of the federal executive is designed for delegation. “I am the Minister in charge of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Z is a Minister in charge of Interior, Mrs. O is a Minister in charge of Trade, Investment and Industry. Must everybody reach Mr. President? Is that the way government runs?”

He urged Nigerians to utilise the channels of ministers and special advisers assigned to specific sectors. “If everybody in this country refuses to reach out to ministers or special advisers and just wants to see Mr. President, how many people can he attend to at a time?” Wike asked.

The FCT minister added that citizens should first contact the appropriate minister before escalating issues to the president. “I am a minister. If you have a problem regarding activities in the FCT, have you tried to reach out to the FCT minister?” he said.

When pressed on whether the Tinubu administration is accessible, Wike responded unequivocally, “Of course,” reaffirming that citizens can engage the government through its designated officials, highlighting the importance of the federal structure in ensuring effective governance.
