President Tinubu Suspends MD Of Rural Electrification Agency Over N1.2 Billion Fraud

President Tinubu has suspended the MD of Rural Electrification Agency over N1.2 billion fraud.

 

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that President Bola Tinubu has given his approval for the immediate suspension of Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad, the Managing Director/CEO of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), as well as three Executive Directors of the Agency.

 

This Nigeria news platform gathered that the President further directed a thorough investigation into the actions of the mentioned officials who are suspected of engaging in fraudulent spending totaling more than N1.2 billion in the last two years.

Some of the misappropriated funds have already been reclaimed by anti-corruption agencies. three Executive Directors of the Agency:

(1) Olaniyi Alaba Netufo — Executive Director, Corporate Services

(2) Barka Sajou — Executive Director, Technical Services

(3) Sa’adatu Balgore — Executive Director, Rural Electrification Fund (REF)
