Exposed: NASS Plans To Pass Water Resources Bill On Wednesday By Hook Or Crook

The plot to impeach President Buhari, Lawan and Gbajabiamila has gathered momentum as opposition parties join the impeachment call.

Newsonline reports that the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has urged the National Assembly to commence impeachment proceedings against President Muhammadu Buhari.

The spokesperson, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere made the call on Wednesday at a press conference.

He alleged that the President had abused his office, grossly misconducted himself and failed to protect the lives and property of Nigerian citizens.

Ugochinyere said life was now so cheap in Nigeria that leaders “do not even show empathy anymore”.

The CUPP said people are becoming unfeeling since wanton killings have become the order of the day and every new death is taken for granted.

The parties called on opposition lawmakers to work “in alliance with patriotic members who are imprisoned in the APC and seeking liberation to commence an action and impeach the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan and House of Representatives Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila immediately”.

The CUPP alleged that both leaders of the chambers of the National Assembly have failed to guide their colleagues to act as checks and balances on the Executive.

“They do not have respect again as several members of the Executive ignore them even when they are officially summoned.

BREAKING: Father Mbaka Calls For Buhari’s Impeachment

“Lawmakers are no longer respected and are ignored even when they officially summon officials of the Executive because they are daily moving form office to office begging, blackmailing and grabbing anything and everything they can grab.”

Ugochinyere announced that the CUPP has filed a suit at the Federal High Court to seek an order of mandamus to compel the National Assembly to perform its constitutional duty by investigating the several allegations of gross misconduct against Buhari.

Father Mbaka Calls For Buhari’s Impeachment

Meanwhile, NewsOnline Nigeria understands that this is coming few months after Catholic Priest and Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Father Ejike Mbaka called for the impeachment of President Muhammadu Buhari over the high level of insecurity in the country.

Northern Elders Call For Buhari’s Impeachment

Also, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, spokesman of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), says President Muhammadu Buhari should be impeached if he cannot solve Nigeria’s insecurity problem.

Speaking on AIT’s ‘Kakaaki’ programme on Monday, Baba-Ahmed said the nation cannot wait two more years for Buhari to address the issues of insecurity.

He said those who have constitutional responsibility must realise that the country is in a dire state, and do something other than just talking and making promises.

He said the second option is for citizens to get together and decide to do something.

“The third option is that those leaders who are failing will recognize the fact that they are the problem, and they will resign because they clearly have nothing to offer in terms of leadership,” he said.

“Or, as our democratic system provides, those with the responsibility to get them off, should impeach those who are failing. If the president can’t deliver, he should be impeached.

“We don’t have a national assembly that appears to have the levels of patriotism and concern beyond partisan politics to realise that when this roof falls, it also falls on their heads.

“Partisanship is so pronounced that the people we elected and sent to Abuja think they serve the president rather than the Nigerian people.”
