FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike has set a date to decamp to APC.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that barring any last-minute change in the scheme of things, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and former Governor of Rivers State, Mr. Nyesom Wike, is set to declare his defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

This Nigeria news platform gathered from reliable sources that Wike, who is presently a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) though serving in the APC cabinet as Minister, has set December 15, 2023, to announce his defection to the ruling party officially.

Recall that Wike, in the build-up to the 2023 elections, had denounced any form of association with the APC, saying that such a move was like leaving malaria to get cancer.

It is also on record that the former governor worked against his party during the presidential election to secure a slim victory for the APC in Rivers State.

Meanwhile, 27 lawmakers of the Rivers State House of Assembly, who are loyal to Wike, on Monday morning decamped from the PDP to the APC.
