Former Powerful Vice President Is Dead

Bandits have killed kidnapped popular Nigerian Speaker’s Father.

Newsonline reports that Alhaji Muazu Abubakar, father of the Speaker, Zamfara State House of Assembly, Hon. Nasiru Magarya has died at the hands of Bandits, who kidnapped him few weeks ago.

This online news platform understands that the speaker’s father was kidnapped by bandits eight weeks ago along with his wife, three weeks old baby, and three other people.

Mallam Dahiru Saraki Magarya, older brother to the deceased confirmed the death during an interview on Saturday.

Although others who were kidnapped alongside the speaker’s father were rescued on Saturday, the speaker’s father was not.

Speaking on the death of the speaker’s father, Malam Dahiru who was also kidnapped and rescued on Saturday said the speaker’s father died of a heart attack in the den of the kidnappers.

“One of the bandits’ kingpins popularly known as Kachalla informed me that my brother died due to heart failure while in captivity. We were separated when they kidnapped us, they took my brother to another camp but it was Kachalla, one of the commanders of the bandits that told me about the death of my brother which was a result of a heart attack hours before our rescue,” he said.

The deceased wife identified as Hauwa’u Magarya who was also a kidnapped victim said she also learnt of her husband’s death from the bandits.

“I heard them say my husband has died and I was shocked but I submitted everything to Almighty God.”

However, the Zamfara State police command is yet to confirm the death of the speaker’s father.

Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Ayuba Elkanah, presented the rescued victims before reporters in Gusau yesterday.

He noted that the rescued victims have undergone various medical checkups and would be reunited with their families.

The Police chief said 16 victims, including a three months old baby, Khadija Muazu, and her mother Hauwau Muazu, were rescued and safely returned when the fleeing bandits abandoned them at their various camps.

He said efforts were being made to rescue the speaker’s father from his captors.
