NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, along with the National Working Committee, has announced the formation of various sub-committees to lead the party’s campaign efforts in the upcoming Ondo State governorship election on November 16.
In a list released on Monday and signed by APC National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, key figures were appointed to spearhead different committees.
Former Osun State Governor, Bisi Akande, will chair the Elders Committee, while Pius Akinyelure, a past Ondo governorship aspirant, will support as a deputy.
Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State will lead the Finance Committee, with Senate President Godswill Akpabio as his deputy.
Meanwhile, Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has been appointed head of the Media and Publicity Committee, supported by the Minister of Information, Idris Mohammed.
For security, Borno Governor Babagana Zulum will chair the committee, alongside Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya as his deputy.
The APC statement emphasized that “National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, in consultation with the National Working Committee, has approved the composition of the Ondo State Gubernatorial National Campaign Council.”
The inauguration of this council will take place at the International Event Centre (The Dome) in Akure, Ondo State, on October 28.
Recall that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has been appointed as Chairman of the National Campaign Council, tasked with leading a 305-member team.
He will be assisted by former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, along with key APC members such as Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, Kebbi Governor Nasir Idris, Ogun Governor Dapo Abiodun, and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume.
