Ali Ndume has been removed as Senate Whip after scathing government criticism.

 

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Ali Ndume, the senator representing Borno South, has been removed as the Majority Whip of the Nigerian Senate and replaced with Tahir Manguno.

 

This followed his recent scathing criticism of the Nigerian government.

This Nigeria news platform gathered that the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had written to the Senate, requesting that Ndume step down from his APC membership and join a different party.

 

Godswill Akpabior, the president of the Nigerian Senate, read the letter during the plenary session and put the request to voice votes. It received overwhelming support from APC senators.
