The Labour Party (LP) has called for a cease of attacks on supporters of Peter Obi by alleged All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Lagos.
Newsonline reports that the call was made by the National Youth Leader of Labour Party (LP), Eragbe Anslem on Monday in reaction to an alleged attack on one of the supporters of the Labour Party presidential candidate who was to have been attacked by mobs reported to be supporters of Bola Tinubu, APC presidential candidate.
The attack according to Eragbe happened after the supporter, identified as Obi Flag Boy posted a video on Twitter saying he was assaulted by some mobs in Oshodi area of Lagos after the one million march rally, held on Saturday, 1 October, for the former governor of Anambra State.
A statement released by Eragbe on Monday read, “The National Youth Leader of Labour Party (LP), Comr. ERAGBE ANSLEM has called for inquiries by the Police and relevant security authorities in Lagos State, to unravel the perpetrators of the dastardly attack on @ObiFlagboy.”
“This, the National Youth Leader noticed is becoming a common phenomenon, as staunch supporters of @PeterObi, the Labour Party presidential candidate supporters are attacked.
“The recent case is that in which Flag-Boys were attacked by the APC hoodlums in Lagos State and cautioned them to stop before it degenerates into reprisal attacks.”
At the time of filing this report, Peter Obi Grassroots Mobilization group said, the Director General of Peter Obi campaign Council, Doyin Okupe has reached out to the victim.
