Columbia is affected. The fires attacked Canada’s largest oilfields. Fort McMurray is particularly affected. The neighbourhoods of Beacon Hill, Abasand, Prairie Creek and Grayling Terrace were ordered to evacuate.
As of Wednesday 15th of May, NewsOnline Nigeria got in touch with one Mr. Babs a Nigerian living in Alberta who confirmed the incidents with a video recording stating their lives are under serious threat.
On 17th of May, 2024 Regional Fire Chief Jody Butz shared that RCMP visited every evacuated neighbourhood on to document conditions of each home and no damages were observed or reported.
Forty (40) RCMP members were fully dedicated to the security, safety, and patrols of the evacuated neighbourhoods.
