The vice-presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, has said the constant attack on Atiku Abubakar, PDP presidential candidate, has boosted his chances more in the North which has 58 percent voting power.

Newsonline reports that Okowa, Delta State governor also said the shouting of Atiku in Ibadan, Oyo State, during the flag off of Seyi Makinde’s campaign rally after Wike had spoken showed that the citizens of the states of the G-5 governors trust the capacity of Atiku.

Mr Charles Aniagwu, Delta State Commissioner of Information, said this on Friday, at a press conference in Asaba.

Aniagwu who is also a member of the Atiku/Okowa presidential campaign council added that the PDP presidential candidate and his vice are not disturbed by the decision of former president Olusegun Obasanjo and the leader of Pan Niger Delta Forum, Chief Edwin Clark to endorse the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

“We do not begrudge Obasanjo or E.K Clark for their position with Peter Obi. We are aware that we are going into a contest and such endorsement is normal,” Aniagwu said.

He added that comparing the winning chances of the Labour Party presidential candidate and that of PDP would be a wrong comparison, According to him, Atiku and Okowa tickets ticked all the required boxes to win election in Nigeria, while that cannot be said for Peter Obi.

“We have the competitive edge to win because the Atiku/ Okowa ticket ticks all the boxes. We are in the ‘A’ grade while Peter Obi in credit grade,” he added.

Aniagwu added that the Peoples Democratic Party have not closed the door of negotiation for any presidential candidate that may wish to drop ambition and work for Atiku.
