President Muhammadu Buhari has appealed to the the United States, United Kingdom to proscribe Indegenious People of Biafra, IPOB.

Newsonline reports that President Buhari stated this in an email interview he sent to Bloombergon the state of the country and what his administration has done in fulfilling his campaign promises of security, economy and corruption.

President Buhari in an email stated that Nigeria under his administration has solved security challenges facing the country.

Buhari said with the help of US and UK, his administration has decimated Boko Haram terrorist group that held most parts of the North-East as their territory.

President Buhari explained that: In 2015, Boko Haram held territory the size of Belgium within the borders of Nigeria. Today they are close to extinct as a military force. The leader of ISWAP was eliminated by a Nigerian Airforce airstrike in March. The jets acquired from the US and intelligence shared by British were not provided to previous administrations and stand as testament to renewed trust re-built between Nigeria and our traditional western allies under my government.”

President Buhari appealed to the United States and united Kingdom to give the same collaboration they gave in decimating Boko Haram terrorists by designating IPOB as a terrorist group.

Buhari stated that IPOB has been enjoying international flow which they are using to finance their hate speech against the country in London.

He said: We urge those same international partners to take additional steps costing them nothing, by proscribing another group – IPOB – as a terrorist organization. Their leadership enjoys safe haven in the West, broadcasting hate speech into Nigeria from London, spending millions lobbying members of the US Congress, and freely using international financial networks to arm agitators on the ground. This must stop.”

President Buhari in the email stated that his administration has solved Nigeria insecurity more than he met it in 2015.

Newsonline had reported that Indegenous People of Biafra, IPOB, a separatist group in South-East of Nigeria was proscribed by President Buhari administration in 2017.

However all efforts of Buhari administration for the international community to proscriibe IPOB has been unsucessful.
