Ahead of the 2023 general election, presidential candidates across political parties, on Sunday, attended the first in the series of town hall meetings, organised by Arise News Channel, in Abuja.
Newsonline reports that those present at the first leg of the townhall meeting, were a former governor of Kano State and presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso; a former governor of Anambra State and presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi; the Governor of Delta State and vice-presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ifeanyi Okowa, who stood in for his principal, Atiku Abubakar, and the presidential candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Mr. Kola Abiola.
The presidential town hall series was, however, focused on two issues: security and the economy.
This online news media recalls that since the release of the list of candidates for the presidential race by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Nigerians have been very vocal about their desire for a presidential debate among all candidates.
