Desirable Criteria For WAMA Recruitment 2024

The required qualifications are given below:

  1. All applicants must be nationals of one of the 15 ECOWAS member countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo.
  2. Be no more than 55 years of age as of July 31, 2024.
  3. At least a 5-year post-secondary degree in economics or finance from a university, business school or equivalent institution.
  4. At least twenty (20) years of relevant professional experience in a multilateral institution, public organization, central bank, regional economic organization or prestigious academic institution, including ten (10) years in senior management positions.
  5. Must be fluent in English or French
  6. Must have thorough knowledge of macroeconomic and monetary issues (good knowledge of regional integration issues, exchange rates and monetary policies).
  7. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  8. A demonstrated ability to build consensus and achieve results in highly complex situations.
  9. Ability to work effectively with multilateral institutions such as the member central banks, the AfDB, the IMF, the World Bank, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, etc.
  10. Excellent aptitudes for managing a multicultural team.
