Truecaller surpassed 500 million global users as demand for spam and scam protection has grown.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Truecaller, the global platform focused on safe and trusted communication, has announced that it has surpassed 500 million users worldwide, marking a major milestone in its mission to improve trust in digital communication.
The company revealed that the platform experienced strong growth in 2025, adding more than 50 million new users during the year. It also reported that its user base outside India has now exceeded 150 million, reflecting increasing global demand for protection against spam calls, scams, and unwanted communications.

Earlier this year, Truecaller also crossed 4 million paying subscribers globally, strengthening one of the company’s key revenue streams and demonstrating growing user willingness to pay for enhanced communication security features.
Commenting on the milestone, Rishit Jhunjhunwala, Chief Executive Officer of Truecaller, said the achievement reflects the growing need for trust and safety in modern digital communication.
“This is an important milestone for us, but it also says something bigger about the world we live in,” Jhunjhunwala said. “More and more people need help navigating spam, scams, and unwanted communication every day. Reaching 500 million users shows the scale of that need, and the trust people place in Truecaller to help make communication safer.”
He added that the company remains committed to strengthening the platform with smarter technology and new capabilities that protect users before, during, and after every call or message.
With half a billion monthly users, Truecaller has expanded beyond its original caller identification service to become a broader trust layer within the digital communication ecosystem. The platform now helps users verify identities, avoid fraud, and make informed decisions about who they interact with.
Today, the platform functions as a global digital utility embedded in everyday communication habits, enabling users to identify unknown callers, prevent fraud, and maintain safer messaging interactions.
Despite its massive global user base, the company operates with a relatively lean workforce of about 470 employees managing and developing the platform for users worldwide.
Truecaller stated that it will continue to publish data on its monthly and daily active users in its quarterly financial reports, while setting its sights on its next major milestone, reaching one billion users globally.
