3. Facts on How Magu was Re-looting Recovered Funds Emerge

The suspended acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)Mr Ibrahim Magu, may be facing fresh cases of alleged re-looting of funds recovered by the commission as well as bribery.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Magu is currently being interrogated by a presidential probe panel headed by retired Justice Ayo Salami over allegations of mismanagement and lack of transparency in managing recovered assets by the EFCC.

A final report of the Presidential Investigation Committee on the EFCC Federal Government Recovered Assets and Finances from May, 2015, to May 2020, obtained by NAN had seriously indicted and implicated Magu on various allegations leveled against him.

4. Ibrahim Magu Makes 7 Demands Before Presidential Panel (See List)


Ibrahim Magu has tabled seven demands before the Presidential Panel as his counsel Wahab Shittu writes IGP seeking for his bail.


NewsOnline Nigeria reports that suspended Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), who is under investigation by the Presidential Investigative Committee, has spent the fifth day at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) and on Thursday, requested bail from custody. Magu has been detained at the FCID since Monday when he first appeared before the panel.

Recall that Magu’s counsel, Wahab Shittu, on Friday, pleaded with the Presidential Investigation Committee to grant him bail, saying that the suspended EFCC Chairman needed the bail because the print and electronic media had taken undue advantage of his detention to launch a campaign of calumny against him.
