NewsOnline Nigeria reports that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sworn in Taiwo Oyedele as Nigeria’s new Minister of State for Finance.

Oyedele replaces Doris Anite-Uzoka, who has been redeployed to the Federal Ministry of Budget and National Planning as Minister of State. The redeployment marks her third ministerial portfolio since the beginning of the current administration.

The Nigerian Senate had earlier confirmed Oyedele’s appointment on March 11, 2026, just 24 hours after President Tinubu forwarded his nomination for screening and approval.
Before his appointment, Oyedele served as Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, where he spearheaded a major review and reform of Nigeria’s tax system aimed at improving revenue generation and strengthening fiscal policy.
His appointment is expected to support the administration’s ongoing economic reforms and efforts to stabilize Nigeria’s public finance framework.
