Taraba Finance Commissioner, Sarah Enoch Adi has been caught in exam impersonation scandal.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that in exclusive video obtained by SaharaReporters has exposed an alleged case of examination malpractice involving Taraba State’s Commissioner for Finance, Mrs. Sarah Enoch Adi.

In the footage, a woman identified as Leavitt Felix was caught sitting for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) exam in place of the commissioner. During questioning by exam supervisors, Felix admitted she was writing on behalf of “Sarah Enoch Adi.”

When pressed further, Felix insisted she was contracted by one “Joshua,” whom she claimed not to know personally. Supervisors, however, pointed out discrepancies in her statements compared to official records, warning that the matter could be handed over to the police if she failed to provide full details.

The revelation has intensified scrutiny on Mrs. Adi, who is already facing criticism over her role in a controversial biometric verification exercise that allegedly removed more than 7,000 names including senior civil servants from the state’s payroll. Civil servants in Taraba had previously staged protests, demanding her removal along with Accountant General Gaius Danjuma, accusing them of incompetence and mismanagement.

Mrs. Adi, born in Wukari, Taraba State, holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from Nasarawa State University and was appointed Commissioner for Finance, Budget, and Economic Planning in August 2023 by Governor Agbu Kefas.

The unfolding scandal has now raised fresh questions about her credibility and continued stay in office, with growing calls for the state government to take decisive action.
