NewsOnline reports that the Presidential Transition Council (PTC) has disowned the circulating programme of events for the May 29 inauguration.
The council, in a statement on Saturday, described the programme on social media as fake.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and Chairman of PTC, Boss Mustapha issued the clarification.
He confirmed the inauguration committee of the council had reached an advanced stage in its preparation for an orderly transfer of power.
Mustapha said the approved programme of events would be made public at a World Press Conference scheduled for Thursday, May 18.
The SGF added that various approved events for the week would commence on Monday, May 22.
The statement warned purveyors of fake news to stop peddling falsehoods in an attempt to mislead members of the public.
