Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has stated that Peter Obi is competent enough to be the president of the country come 2023 general election.

Newsonline reports that the former Aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan stated this while making a comparison between Atiku and Peter Obi.

Newsonline had reported that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, former vice president, clinched the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, after defeating, Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.

Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra State, clinched the presidential ticket of the Labour Party for the 2023 general election through consensus, “Peter is competent enough to be President.”

Reno stated that it was time Peter Obi followers on social media penetrated the grassroots to ensure a stronghold of the rural populace.

He said having a strong presence in the 774 local governments will ensure easy win for the Labour Party candidate.

“Political popularity needs to permeate down from social media to the grassroots. Nigeria has a population of 200 million people. 80 million of which have registered to vote. Only 5 million Nigerians are on Twitter. Using Twitter to gauge popularity is not very wise!

“Using Twitter to gauge popularity is not very wise! Get a structure in each of the 774 Local Government Areas of Nigeria. Have unit, ward, and senatorial zone leaders in place. Where people are hungry, make promises to them, and give them rice if you can afford.”

Reno Omokri took a swipe at Sowore for stating that Peter is an orphan politician who will not win presidential election.

“Sowore’s attack against Peter Obi is funny. How can a man with millions of followers be an “orphan” politician? Nigerian youths rejected Sowore during the #EndSARS protests. Peter Obi is more embraced by our youths than Sowore may ever be. That is why he is pained.”
