Peter Obi: More Knocks On Fr. Mbaka Over Stingy Comment

Army of Peter Obi supporters seems not to be holding back, as more knocks come down on Mbaka over stingy comment against the Labour candidate.

 

Newsonline reports that Peter Obi’s followers have held nothing back in their reactions to statements credited to Fr. Mabak, that the Labour Party candidate is stingy and shall be stingy to Nigerians if he wins the presidential election.

 

Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, a famous Catholic priest was alleged to have said on his prayer ground on Wednesday, that Peter Obi is stingy and not suitable to be the country’s president.

 

In a 28 seconds video circulating on social media, which has not been confirmed by the priest, Fr. Mbaka could be heard saying, that a stingy person will not be president of the country.

 

Mbaka in the video continues that if a stingy person becomes the president of the country, he will be stingy to the citizens.

 

Peter Obi’s army of followers, on social media, was angered by the statement which they related to an incident in 2019, between the Catholic priest and Peter Obi, in the build-up to the 2019 general election.

 

In 2019 campaign, Peter Obi attended a programme of the Catholic priest at hie Emene, Enugu, Adoration Ministry, to call for a vote.

 

The Catholic priest requested Peter Obi to say what he was going to give the ministry as support, Peter Obi responded to Fr. Mbaka, that he should be shown one of the ministry’s projects to support. The insistence of Peter Obi on sponsoring a project than saying out his support on the altar, made the priest interpret that act as such of stingy.

 

The Catholic priest, spiritual director of Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria,  however, apologised over the incident and the embarrassment it brought Peter Obi and his political career.

 

Fr. Mbaka alleged statement trending on social media however seems to have made new the healing would of the 2019 incident.

Peter Obi followers mostly youths in their millions took to social media to support the act of in maintaining his principle against Fr. Mbaka.

 

To show their solidarity with the prudent financial management of the Labour Party presidential candidate, his followers have listed many projects Peter Obi has sponsored in the Catholic Church.

 

The netizens also enumerated how Fr Mbaka had supported President Buhari in 2015, whom they alleged has brought untold hardship to the country, including insecurity, poverty and hardship.

 

The netizens also filled social media with Fr. Mbaka’s support for Imo State governor, Hope Uzodimma, who has allegedly visited the state with insecurity.

 

A  Twitter user, Corporate hustler, recounted that Peter Obi donated N100 million to Nsukka Catholic Diocese, School of Nursing and Midwifery for education empowerment.

 

 

Another Twitter user, Gaius Chibueze said, “Mbaka said what Nigerians need now is Food.
Such a disgrace of a Priest. I will address the Igbo Elite class but let me wait until after this Election.Orji Uzo Kalu, Dave Umahi Etc will hear from me in due time.
For now, the project is #PeterObiForPresident2023.”

Danie Regha recounted, “Father Mbaka who said that “Buhari is God sent”, is now trying so hard to de-market Peter Obi cos Obi didn’t dance to his tune; It’s not surprising though cos he has been using his status to manipulate people and pursue his own self-interest. Mbaka has n¤ credibility at this point.”
