PDP Crisis: NWC Members Return N10bn Paid Into Their Accounts To Save Ayu

As the crisis ravaging the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gets messy, members of the National Working Committee (NWC) who were paid ranging from N28,800,000 have returned what was paid into their bank accounts to save the National Chairman, Ayu, as house allowance.

 

Newsonline reports that among those of returened their own bribes which was paid as house allowance, was the Deputy National Chairman South, Arapaja Taofeek, who returned N36,000,000 million to the bank account.

 

Also, the National Vice Chairman, South/South, Chief Dan Osi Orbih, returened N28,800,000; Hon Olasoji Adagunodo National Vice Chairman SouthWest, returened N28,800,000 miliion; and the National Women Leader pf the PDP, Prof Stella Prof stella Effah-Attoe returned N28,800,000 miliion.

 

These were contained in a letter obtained by Newsonline, written on Thursday, addressed to the national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, disclosing the return of the bribe paid into their accounts as housing allowance.

The revelation comes after a national daily exposed how N10 billion was shared among the members of the NWC of the PDP to ensure their support for the embattled national chairman.

 

 

In their separate reactions, Ayu and the PDP National Publicity secretary refused to comment on the letters, stating that they have not seen the letters.

 

The Special Assistant Communication and Strategy to the PDP National Chairman, Simon Imobo-Tswam, simply said, “We have not seen the letters. So, I can’t say anything for now.”

 

The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Debo Ologunagba said he cannot react to what he has not seen. He added that even if he sees the letters, he would first confirm the letters emanated from them.

 

“I can’t react to what I have not seen. I have not seen the letters. They were not addressed to me. Again, even if I see them, I will need to study them before speaking for the party.

 

“Again, there may be need to find out if the said letters were truly written by these people you mentioned,” he said on behalf of the party,” he said.
