1. Edo State Government has disbanded the media crew attached to the Office of the Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu. In a statement on Monday by the State’s Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare, the government directed the Deputy Governor to henceforth request the Ministry of Communication and Orientation for media coverage of activities of his office.

2. A 39-year-old female tenant, OpeOluwa Agoro, allegedly bit off the right ear of her neighbour, Oloruntofunmi Folorunso, on Oremeta Street in the Igode area of the Ogun State on Sunday during an argument on electricity bill. It was gathered that the electricity distribution company servicing the area disconnected the house where both tenants live over a pending issue.

3. The Federal Government, on Monday, said all the frontline states on the path of River Benue may experience flooding within the next seven days as a result of the opening of Lagdo Dam in Cameroon. Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu, said this during a press briefing in Abuja.

4. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the Federal Executive Council (FEC) to achieve the targets of reviving the economy to make life more bearable for the people. He stated this when the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun presented the “Roadmap for the economy” which was considered at the maiden federal cabinet meeting presided over by the president.

5. The main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has raised concern over the prevailing hardship in the country, saying that Nigeria is fast grinding to a halt under President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC). PDP in a statement by Debo Ologunagba, the National Publicity Secretary of the party on Monday in Abuja, lamented that Nigeria is at the edge of the precipice under the APC.

6. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs to stop the processing of visas for all government officials seeking to travel to New York for the United Nations General Assembly without proof of direct participation in UNGA’s official schedule of activities. His spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, said this in a statement on Monday.

7. The Fulani socio-cultural association, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, on Monday, vowed to tackle injustice suffered by its members across the country, saying it must come to an end. To this end, the organisation has constituted a 55-member legal committee to take stock of all cases against its members nationwide with a view to seeking legal redress.

8. Kwara State Police Commissioner, Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi, has described one Salam Ayodeji, who allegedly threatened traditionalists in Ilorin, as a terrorist wanted by the State Police command. She gave the family three days to produce the controversial Muslim cleric, adding that the command has also begun a manhunt for his arrest.

9. Troops of 144 Battalion have successfully rescued 25 hostages from the captivity of Boko Haram terrorists enclaves in Borno and contiguous states. The troops in conjunction with Hybrid Force, extricated 14 hostages in a clearance operation at Gobara village in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State on Saturday.

10. A warehouse in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital used by the State government to store foodstuffs and other materials was on Sunday invaded by some residents who stole food items. The items included bags of rice and garri, as well as cartons of noodles said to be part of the relief materials donated by some concerned Nigerians during the 2022 flood disaster in the State.
