NECO has gone digital to ensure a transparent recruitment process and checkmate all sharp processes.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the National Examinations Council (NECO) has digitalised the recruitment process of supervisors and assistant supervisors for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Internal and External to check external interferences and sharp practices.

Findings by NewsOnline Nigeria revealed that the council has decided to provide a level playing ground for the best to be selected for the assignments to ensure credible examination.

In a statement signed yesterday by the acting director of information and digital communication, Azeez Sani, he stated that “ the digitalization is to check sharp practices in the recruitment process and to enhance efficiency and effective service delivery.”

He said the digitalisation process which involves migration from the manual recruitment of supervisors and assistant supervisors to online system, would ensure that supervisors nomination form, appointment letters and supervisors e-photo albums are generated on-line.

Sani added that the routine swapping of supervisors and assistant supervisors during the examination would be done online.

Consequently, he said interested qualified teachers with NCE, degree certificates, master degrees, PhD and professors are eligible to apply as supervisors and assistant supervisors for BECE or SSCE internal or external examinations.

The statement recalled that before the digitalisation system, recruitment of supervisors and assistant supervisors was done manually by the council and the innovation would further make NECO examination more credible.
