IPOB has warned Tinubu and DSS of ‘catastrophe’ if Nnamdi Kanu’s health deteriorates.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has issued a stern warning to President Bola Tinubu and the Department of State Services (DSS), cautioning that Nigeria risks “catastrophe” if anything happens to its detained leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

In a statement on Tuesday, IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful, described Kanu as “priceless” and insisted that his health must be given urgent and adequate medical attention while in custody.

“Let it be clearly understood: Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is priceless, and no amount of blackmail, judicial rascality, or DSS-induced health crisis will be tolerated,” Powerful said.

Drawing parallels with global history, IPOB likened the potential fallout of Kanu’s deteriorating health to the chain of events that triggered World War I.

“Nigeria is toying with a catastrophe that could engulf not only its borders but the entire region,” the group warned. “A worsening of his medical condition will ignite a crisis the likes of which Nigeria and its foreign backers have never imagined.”

IPOB called on international bodies, human rights organizations, and global leaders to pressure the Nigerian government into granting Kanu’s unconditional release.

The statement stressed that the group would not be held responsible for any crisis that may arise if the government continues to “play games” with the IPOB leader’s life.
