President Muhammadu Buhari’s aide of digital media, Bashir Ahmad had said the South East people, Ndigbo brought calamities upon their region using Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB).

Newsonline reports that Bashir said the people of South East should not blackmail President Buhari for the insecurity because they were standing up in support of the separatist group.

Bashir wrote this on his Twitter handle in response to a tweep, Dr. Emeka Okafor who accused Buhari led All Progressives Congress (APC) federal government of destroying the South East region.

Dr. Okafor, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and supporter of the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, lamented that APC government of President Buhari has destroyed security and businesses in the region.

Okafor further lamented that the once most peaceful region of the country has been destroyed by the Buhari government.

Okafor tweeted, “APC government succeeded in destroying the southeast. Zero traffic of people and businesses in the region. Enter southeast by 7pm and every state turns to a ghost town. Our airports have zero traffic. Nobody is going to the region for any business. Buhari succeeded in his 97% 5%.”

In reaction, Bashir said the South East people should be blamed for the destruction of the region and not Buhari.

He said that while Buhari wanted to address the problems of IPOB- a separatist group in the region- the people of the region stood up in support of the Nnamdi Kanu-led independence agitation group.

Bashir said, “For once, blame yourself for the calamities you brought upon the region. Are you not part of IPOB?”

“Blackmailing everyone trying to stand up for your people, even the President, when he clearly told the destructors that they would be taught a lesson in a language they understand,” he added.
