FG has begun Npower and NSIP Program Transition process to the new administration.

In 2016, the leadership of President Mohammadu Buhari initiated the Npower and other NSIP Programmes headed by the Vice president Yemi Osinbajo. The plan was to create jobs and to lift 100million people out of poverty in 10 years.

In view of the above, a new ministry, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, disaster management and social development was formed to oversee the NSIP programme and other related programmes headed by HM Sadiya Umar Farouq. And the Minister has been in charge over since till today.

 

Now that a new government has been elected through the 2023 Presidential Elections that has just been concluded and Mr.president has Inaugurated a Transition Council and enforced it with Executive Order No 14 of 2023 for the Institutionalization of a legal framework that would enable a seamless transition of power.

 

Inline with that, the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has Inaugurated a Handing Over Notes, Collation and Transition Committee, in line with the Presidential Transition Council directive, because it has become necessary for the Ministry to set up a Ministerial Committee for the collation and development the Handing Over Notes of the entire Humanitarian Sector and come up with a Transition Plan to enable the Ministry interface with the Presidential Transition Council which will be rather soon.

 

According to the Ministry, the committee is expected to ensure the collation and harmonization of the Handing Over Notes from all Departments, Agencies and Programmes under the supervision of the Ministry in the approved Template.
