FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has spoken on his regrets of supporting Tinubu in the 2023 election.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, says he has no regret for supporting President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 general elections.

This Nigera news platform recalls that before his ministerial appointment, Wike was the governor of Rivers State for eight years under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

President Tinubu later called him to serve as FCT Minister in the All Progressives Congress, APC-led Federal Government.

While speaking at a thanksgiving service in Ochigba organised by the PDP in Ahoada East and West Local Government Areas of the state, Wike thanked President Tinubu for believing in him.

Wike said that he was threatened before the presidential elections for supporting Tinubu, adding that he would do the same thing if another opportunity comes.

“I have no regrets, I have no apologies. If the opportunity comes I will do the same thing,” he said.

The Minister also debunked allegations of land grabbing levelled against him by some residents of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

According to him, the right things must be done, stressing that those in possession of government land must do the right thing or risk having their plots of land revoked.

The former Rivers State governor described as laughable the allegation of land grabbing levelled against him.

“I am in charge of lands in Abuja, how will I go and grab what I am in charge of.

“We must thank Mr President, if he did not give us this opportunity, we wouldn’t have known. Here in Rivers State, we thought it was difficult.

“When you go to the capital, you know you are dealing with the entire Nigerians.

“I can assure you, no matter the cry you cry, no matter the propaganda you carry, if you like give me any name you want to give me, the right thing must be done,” he added.
