Edo State Government has suspended the Public Safety Response Team over misconduct allegations.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Edo State Government has announced the indefinite suspension of the Public Safety Response Team (PSRT), led by Kelly Okungbowa, following multiple complaints from the public regarding allegations of extortion, harassment, and misconduct by its members.

In a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., the suspension was described as necessary to address growing concerns about the team’s deviation from its original mandate. The PSRT was initially established to maintain public order, protect state infrastructure, and curb illegal activities such as street trading and unlawful parking.
