NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Popular media personality Daddy Freeze has revealed that his first marriage happened because his ex-wife was pregnant at the time.
Speaking in an interview with Chude Jideonwo, the broadcaster opened up about his past relationship with his former wife, Opeyemi, admitting that he wouldn’t have gone through with the marriage if not for the pregnancy.
“We had no business getting married because we were too young and immature,” Daddy Freeze admitted. “I was 24, and she was 22 when we got married. She was pregnant. If she hadn’t been pregnant, I’m not sure the marriage would have happened. So yes, pregnancy was one of the major reasons we got married,” he said.
Reflecting on their separation, the media personality expressed sadness over being denied contact with his children. “It’s been nearly ten years,” he said. “My ex-wife and I are both very stubborn — she won’t listen, and I won’t listen. It was two broken people in a marriage. My only regret is that the marriage didn’t work out, and I can’t see or even speak with my kids. They’re abroad now. I’ve traced them, but I don’t want to sneak up on them. If they ever want to reach out, a simple DM on social media would mean everything.”
