President Trump has addressed the speculation on seeking third term in White House.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that US President Donald Trump has said he is not looking to run for a third term in the White House.

This Nigeria news platform understands that Trump stated this during a wide-ranging interview with NBC’s ‘Meet the Press’.

The 76-year-old refused to take responsibility for the shrinking economy and expressed uncertainty whether he must uphold the Constitution to carry out his deportation agenda.

Trump’s interview was part of his media blitz as he marks his first 100 days in office during his second term.

According to him, he is not allowed to run for presidency in 2028, despite floating the idea since returning to the White House.

“I’m not looking at that,” Trump said.

“I will say this. So many people want me to do it.

“But it’s something that, to the best of my knowledge, you’re not allowed to do. I don’t know if that’s constitutional that they’re not allowing you to do it or anything else.”

The 22nd Amendment bars a third term in the White House, stating that, “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice.”

Trump said he’s “looking to have four great years and turning it over to somebody, ideally a great Republican, a great Republican to carry it forward.”
