President Tinubu is set to appoint Action Alliance (AA) party presidential candidate, Hamza Al-Mustapha as NSCDC Boss.

Newsonline Nigeria reports that President Bola Tinubu is reportedly considering appointing Major Hamza Al-Mustapha (rtd) as the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

According to a report by The Guardian monitored by Newsonline, the appointment was in line with President Bola Tinubu’s resolve to reposition the security architecture.

This Nigeria news platform understands that Hamza Mustapha was the presidential candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) party before he was sacked by the court.

He was also the former chief security officer to late military dictator, Sani Abacha.

He has been vocal about the security challenges in the country, particularly during the tenure of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

During a keynote address at a roundtable discussion on “Contemporary security challenges and their effects on the 2023 general election,” Major Al-Mustapha expressed concerns about the proliferation of arms and hard drugs in Nigeria.

He warned that these issues could seriously jeopardize the upcoming elections, suggesting that Nigerians should question whether the stockpile of arms is intended to reinforce insurgency.

Major Al-Mustapha pointed out that the country is currently grappling with leadership deficits at various levels and stressed the need for the next leader to possess the ability to navigate the complex challenges facing Nigeria.

He cautioned that the nation is in a precarious situation, akin to a “keg of gunpowder,” demanding immediate attention and action.
