Plateau Governor Caleb Mutfwang has officially defectd to APC.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The governor was formally received into the ruling party on Friday in Jos, where the Plateau State Chairman of the APC, Rufus Bature, presented him with his membership card.

Speaking at the event, Mutfwang said his decision to join the APC was taken in the overall interest of Plateau State, stressing that the move would promote unity and development.

Describing his defection as a “journey of faith,” the governor expressed confidence that the state would benefit from the political realignment.

“The journey we are embarking on is a journey of faith, and I believe Plateau will reap the dividends of this union,” he said.

Acknowledging concerns from some quarters, Mutfwang urged residents to be patient and optimistic, assuring them that time would validate his decision.

“To the fearful, I say take courage and fear no more because we have come for good. We have come to join hands and work together,” he added.

Despite the change in party affiliation, the governor promised to run an all-inclusive government and called on the people of Plateau State to remain united at all times.

Mutfwang also expressed gratitude to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), his former party, for providing him with a platform throughout his political career.

He said his defection would further motivate him to deliver qualitative leadership to the state, while thanking President Bola Tinubu for his commitment and support to Plateau State.

The governor pledged to support President Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 general election.
