PDP has zoned 2027 Presidential Ticket to Southern Nigeria.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially zoned its 2027 presidential ticket to the South, party officials announced on Monday.

Debo Ologunagba, PDP National Publicity Secretary, disclosed the decision to journalists shortly after the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, explaining that it followed a report by the Zoning Committee, chaired by Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri.

Ologunagba added that the party retained the existing National Working Committee (NWC) zoning formula for its upcoming November elective convention.

“NEC recommended that the North and South retain their current NWC positions. NEC also resolved that since the National Chairman of the party is zoned to the North, the PDP 2027 Presidential ticket is hereby zoned to the South,” he said.

The decision sets the stage for party stakeholders in the South to begin consultations and positioning ahead of the 2027 elections.
