BREAKING: Military Launches Search For Northern Youths Calling For Coup

The military has launched a search for Northern Youths calling for a coup against President Bola Tinubu’s Government.

 

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Military and other security agencies in Nigeria have launched a search for those calling for a coup in the country and trying to force an undemocratic change of government.

 

This was disclosed on Tuesday by the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, during a joint press briefing by security chiefs on Tuesday, August 6, at the Defence Headquarters Abuja.

 

He added that some sponsors of rioters flying foreign flags have been arrested, while their bank accounts have been frozen.

 

Present at the meeting were the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen Taoreed Lagbaja, Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, Chief of Defence Intelligence, Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, Chief of Defence Intelligence, representative of the Director-General of the Department of State Service (DSS) Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Controller-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant-General of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS).

 

Meanwhile, authorities of the Nigerian Immigration Services (NIS) have placed sponsors of the nationwide #EndBadGovernance protest on its watchlist.

 

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Comptroller-General of NIS, Kemi Nandap, made this known on Tuesday, shortly after a strategic meeting convened by the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa.

 

In the bid to implement the crackdown order given by the President, Bola Tinubu, the Defence Chief and other heads of intelligence agencies as well as other heads of para-military agencies, held a closed-door meeting at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja.

 

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Nandap also said sponsors in the diaspora would also be arrested immediately they step foot into the country.
