NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Olumide Akpata, the Labour Party (LP) candidate, has lost his polling unit to Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The voting took place at Polling Unit 11, Ward 06 in Oredo Local Government Area (LGA), and the results have caused a stir as Ighodalo secured a notable victory in Akpata’s own voting stronghold.
The official results from the polling unit were as follows:
PDP: 41 votes
Labour Party (LP): 32 votes
All Progressives Congress (APC): 19 votes
Despite Akpata’s strong presence in Oredo LGA, which was seen as a base of support for the former Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) president, Ighodalo emerged victorious with a margin of 9 votes over Akpata’s 32.
The APC candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, trailed behind with 19 votes.
