Goodluck Jonathan has reportedly sets 3 tough conditions to accept PDP Presidential Ticket for 2027.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Former Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan, has reportedly outlined three key conditions before accepting the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to insider sources, Jonathan wants two former presidential contenders, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, to return to the PDP. Atiku, the PDP’s flagbearer in the 2019 and 2023 elections, and Obi, the Labour Party candidate in 2023, both left the party after internal disputes. Jonathan believes their return would significantly strengthen the PDP’s chances against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The third condition reportedly involves the expulsion of Nyesom Wike, the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and former Rivers State governor. Wike, who led the PDP’s rebel G5 faction during the 2023 elections, is accused of undermining the party’s unity by working against its presidential candidate.

Political analysts say meeting Jonathan’s demands could unify the PDP’s top power brokers ahead of 2027. However, expelling Wike may trigger fresh political tensions, particularly in Rivers State where he commands a strong political base.

If Jonathan’s conditions are fulfilled, the PDP could mount its strongest challenge yet to reclaim power from the APC in the next presidential race.
