NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Former President Goodluck Jonathan may be edging closer to a political comeback after the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) zoned its 2027 presidential ticket to the South, clearing the way for him to run.
Jonathan, who has so far remained guarded about his 2027 intentions, has faced mounting pressure from loyalists urging him to return. His supporters believe he is the most “acceptable southern option” to northern power blocs, as he is constitutionally limited to a single four-year term.

For many within the party, his candidacy is viewed as a unifying compromise capable of bridging PDP’s northern and southern divides.
