BREAKING: JAMB’s Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede Under Fire Over JAMB Results Error

JAMB’s Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede is currently under fire over 2025 JAMB results error leading to mass failure.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that after the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) admitted that there were technical problems during its recent exam, a university lecturer has called on JAMB’s Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, to resign immediately.

This Nigeria news platform understands that Dr Christian Okeke, a Political Science lecturer at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, said it’s not enough for the Registrar to cry or take responsibility, he should step down.

According to him, the decision to make candidates rewrite the exam in some centres is unfair. He believes the best way to fix the situation is to release the candidates’ original results.

Dr Okeke criticised JAMB for initially defending the poor results, where over 1.5 million candidates scored below 200. He said the board only admitted failure after facing pressure and legal threats from concerned Nigerians.

He questioned how the Registrar’s public display of emotions could fix the damage or ease the pain felt by the affected candidates and their families.

He also described the plan to repeat the exam in 65 centres in Lagos and 92 in the South East as heartless and inconsiderate.

Dr Okeke insists that the right thing to do is to release the real results, offer psychological help to the affected candidates, and hold those responsible accountable  starting with the Registrar’s resignation.

He praised Nigerians for standing up against what he called unacceptable behaviour by a government agency.

Meanwhile, NewsOnline Nigeria reports that many Nigerians have taken to various social media platforms to call out the JAMB Registrar. Some have also demanded for his immediate resignation, arrest and prosecution over alleged cross misconduct and for jeopardizing students future with their faulty system.
