Governor Soludo is reportedly set to dump APGA and join APC.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Abia North Senator and former Abia State Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu, has revealed that Anambra State Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo is on the verge of joining the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking with journalists at the National Assembly on Tuesday, Kalu described Soludo as a progressive leader who shares similar political ideals with himself, President Bola Tinubu, and Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

“I think after all the court cases, he is a progressive like myself, President Tinubu, and the Senate President. Soludo is a progressive. He will come to APC. In fact, it is confirmed that he will join APC. He has no other alternative,” Kalu declared.
The former governor dismissed reports that opposition governors were being pressured to defect to the ruling party, insisting that membership in the APC is purely voluntary.
“Neither I nor other senators, the Senate President, or President Tinubu have ever forced anybody to join our party,” Kalu added.
His comments come days after Soludo’s re-election for a second term, where he defeated the APC candidate, Nicholas Ukachukwu, by a margin of over 300,000 votes.
Political observers say Soludo’s possible defection could significantly alter Anambra’s political dynamics, especially as the APC seeks to consolidate its influence in the South-East ahead of the 2027 general elections.
