Governor Fubara has named his actual state of origin.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has traced his ‘ancestral’ history to Bayelsa State, saying he is 70 per cent from the neighbouring state.

This Nigeria news platform understands that Governor Fubara made this statement while emphasizing the close relationship between Rivers and Bayelsa States.

During a meeting at the government house in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, where he welcomed Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa, Fubara advocated for ongoing cooperation and camaraderie between the two states.

He stressed that the history of Rivers State cannot be fully understood without acknowledging the significance of Bayelsa.

“I would want to put mine this way that there is no difference between Rivers and Bayelsa; we are one.

“More especially my identity as a person is 70 per cent Bayelsa, it’s left for people to understand what I have said.

“But the truth about it is that it would be really out of place if, as a governor of Rivers State today, I didn’t have that understanding and friendship or that family relationship with a brother state.

“The builders of this state before the present political dispensation were all from Bayelsa State, the records are there.

“So, our story is not complete except we add our side of the Bayelsan, so when his dad Excellency was saying here that we had an understanding, that is the right thing to do.

“What are we fighting for? Issues of life are just mere understanding; we are not going to leave this earth with anything but the legacy we leave is that building of relationships,” Fubara stated.
