Former Anambra Governor Willie Obiano has reportedly died in London hospital.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that there are strong indications that former Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, has passed away in London.
Sources close to the family informed NewsOnline Nigeria that the former governor died after a prolonged battle with severe cardiovascular complications and issues linked to urinary cancer.
A family member who spoke with us in confidence said:
“His health had been deteriorating for months, but the final collapse happened suddenly. We are heartbroken.”
Medical personnel in London also confirmed that Obiano was receiving intensive care before his condition took a critical turn.
“He fought till the very last moment,” a hospital insider disclosed.
Willie Obiano, aged 70, was born on August 8, 1955, in Aguleri, Anambra State. He was married to Ebelechukwu Veronica Obiano and was an alumnus of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), where he graduated in 1979.
