CAC has exposed fake firms using forged incorporation certificates.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has issued a public alert over the activities of three companies allegedly operating with fake certificates of incorporation and falsified registration numbers.

In a statement released on Monday via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the Commission identified the firms as SPEF Cooperative Society Limited, UPIL Staff Cooperative Society Limited, and PREM Staff Cooperative Society Limited.

According to the CAC, investigations revealed that these entities are using two separate RC (Registration Certificate) numbers each, none of which are recognized or recorded in the Commission’s official database.

“The general public is hereby informed that the certificates of incorporation being used by the companies listed below were not issued by the Commission,” the statement read.

The fake details listed are as follows:

  • SPEF Cooperative Society Ltd – RC Numbers: 1265884 & 512862

  • UPIL Staff Cooperative Society Ltd – RC Numbers: 1265837 & 553220

  • PREM Staff Cooperative Society Ltd – RC Numbers: 1265844 & 545901

The CAC emphasized that any business dealings with these companies are done entirely at the individual’s risk.

“Anyone who transacts any business with the above-mentioned companies does so at their own risk,” the Commission warned.

The regulatory body reiterated its commitment to protecting the integrity of Nigeria’s corporate registration system and urged the public to verify the status of any company through the official CAC portal or its accredited channels.
