Army has redeployed 17 Senior Officers in major shake-up.

 

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede has approved the redeployment of 17 senior officers of the Nigerian Army to new strategic positions across formations, commands, and institutions.

The large-scale posting, announced on Sunday by the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anele, affects Principal Staff Officers at Army Headquarters, General Officers Commanding (GOCs), Corps Commanders, Commandants of training schools, and Brigade Commanders.

According to the Army, the reshuffle is designed to strengthen operational efficiency, enhance administrative performance, and boost the fight against terrorism, insurgency, and other security threats.

Key Appointments at Army Headquarters

  • Major General A.A. Adeyinka moved from the Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport to the Department of Army Logistics as Chief of Logistics (Army).

  • Major General A.A. Adekeye was reassigned from the Department of Standards and Evaluation to the Department of Personnel Management as Chief of Personnel Management (Army).

  • Major General T.B. Ugiagbe, formerly at the Army Intelligence Corps, now heads the Department of Standards and Evaluation.

  • Major General A.A. Idris was redeployed from Defence Headquarters to the Nigerian Army Intelligence Corps as Chief of Military Intelligence (Army).

  • Major General M.O. Erebulu moved from the Department of Special Services and Programmes to become Provost Marshal (Army).

  • Major General E.A. Anaryu, from the Defence Space Administration, is now Corps Commander, Supply and Transport.

  • Major General S.A. Akesode has been posted from the Office of the National Security Adviser to head the African Union Verification Mission in Tigray, Ethiopia.

  • Major General J.E. Osifo is now Director General, Nigerian Army Finance Corporation.

New General Officers Commanding (GOCs)

  • Major General A.S.M. Wase now commands 1 Division and Sector 1 of Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA.

  • Major General C.R. Nnebeife has been appointed General Officer Commanding 2 Division and Sector 3 of the Joint Task Force.

Leadership of Training Institutions

  • Major General M.O. Ihanuwaze is the new Commandant of the Nigerian Army Finance School.

  • Major General K.O. Osemwegie now heads the Army Signal School.

  • Major General A.J. Aliyu was appointed Commandant of the Nigerian Army Ordnance School.

  • Major General A.C. Adetoba, redeployed from the Department of Transformation and Innovation, now commands the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management.

Brigade-Level Commands

  • Brigadier General M. Jimoh now commands 1 Brigade after moving from Headquarters Operation FANSAN YAMMA.

  • Brigadier General N.E. Okoloagu, formerly of the Army War College Nigeria, has been appointed Commander of 2 Brigade.

  • Brigadier General A.A. Bello was redeployed from the Nigerian Army School of Infantry to lead the 6 Division Garrison and Sector 3 of Joint Task Force South South, Operation DELTA SAFE.

COAS Oluyede urged the newly deployed officers to remain committed to duty, stressing that their new roles are crucial in sustaining ongoing operations against insurgency, terrorism, and other security challenges facing Nigeria.
