The Federal government has apologized to parents and students on the eight months strike which was called off by ASUU conditionally.

Newsonline reports that the Federal government said the strike was unwarranted and too prolonged, as it promises to put measures in place to avoid reoccurrence.

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, said had ASUU agreed to the ruling of the Industria Court the strike would not have lasted for too long.

It added that “a groundwork is being laid, of which we are confident, will save Nigerians, this unpalatable experience of incessant strikes in future.”
