The Driver will be responsible for transporting staff and ensuring official vehicles are in good and safe working condition.

Transport staff securely to areas where they are needed
Ensure timely conveyance of staff and materials to and from places as instructed by supervisor or the manager
Ensure that vehicles are always kept clean by washing both the inside and outside parts of the vehicle
Carry out routine checks on vehicles and ensure they are in good working condition
Recognize electrical and mechanical faults and report to the line manager or technician
Report any instance of mishap or accident to the line manager

Job Title: Branch Restoring Family Links (RFL) Focal Person
Location: Yobe
Job Purpose
Under the supervision of the Branch Secretary and technical guidance of the Assistant Coordinator DM/RFL/Migration, the RFL Focal Point will be responsible for proper planning, implementation, follow up and evaluation of all Restoring Family Links (RFL) activities of the NRCS branch, in close collaboration with ICRC RFL delegate and Field Officers.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic management of the RFL program
To ensure that; RFL activities are taken into account in the action plans at the branch level.
Assure communication and the liaison between the NRCS branch and ICRC local representation on all RFL files.
To effectively facilitate the integration and implementation of RFL into the Disaster Management mainstream response both at the branch and outreach levels.
To ensure that; at the branch level, RFL is integrated in the Emergency and First Aid Teams of the NRCS.
Represent the NRCS, at the branch level, in cluster group meetings, workshops, conferences or seminars in relation to RFL in Nigeria.
Using the available reporting tools, report all RFL related activities to the branch management and
To ensure that, in close consultation with his or her hierarchy and with input from ICRC where necessary, RFL volunteers are competitively selected in conformity with pre-established criteria of suitability, availability and engagement.
To identify training needs of RFL volunteers at the branch and outreach levels and organize training modules and frequencies in order to strengthen their capacities through training and on the job coaching
To prepare and update frequently volunteers work plan and deployment schedule for camps, host communities and outreach offices in accordance with the level of RFL needs and share such schedules with ICRC RFL team
Through refresher trainings and in consultation with ICRC, ensure that RFL volunteers are equipped with the knowledge of National RFL procedures and guidelines in order to explain the scope of RFL services and the acceptance criteria.
To ensure effective and timely communication on RFL documents and statistics and reports between the camps/outreach offices and the branch to speed up the eventually transmission to ICRC office and to the NRCS Senior RFL FP.
To establish and maintain a regular briefing with ICRC RFL team through briefing/debriefing sessions, bilateral monthly meetings as a means of reinforcing the monitoring and evaluation of RFL activities and their implementation
To ensure volunteers work under favorable conditions by supporting a timely payment of their incentives and mobility (transport) costs and any required material or stationery.
To efficiently manage the RFL budget by making justifiable RFL activities/expenditures and making returns/receipts as soon as the activities are implemented.
Operational management of RFL program
In collaboration with ICRC RFL Delegate, the RFL Focal Point’s operational role is:
To ensure that RFL volunteers provide adequate and timely services to persons separated from their families in accordance with the predefined criteria and procedures.
Promote dissemination practice on RFL activities to the affected population, the authorities and the local community leaders as well as other humanitarian actors
Jointly collection and compilation of narrative reports and weekly statistics of field activities and share with his or her hierarchy and ICRC.
Organize and conduct, jointly with ICRC or alone, monitoring and evaluation field missions to supervise the progress of RFL activities in the outreach program LGAs
To organize regularly briefing/debriefing sessions with volunteers to discuss RFL related cases, issues, challenges, new approaches or any relevant topic.
To conduct periodic evaluation and assessment of capacities needs of the RFL volunteers and propose intervention proposals to the hierarchy
Safekeeping/Maintenance of all RFL working materials/equipment’s
Other Responsibilities
The RFL Focal Point can support other programs of the NS when needed based on the Branch Secretaries discretion with 80% regular time allocated to RFL activities.
The RFL Focal Point might be requested to work during the week-ends and holidays. He would be subsequently compensated for those extra work hours with additional days off.
In addition to the above-mentioned tasks, the incumbent could be asked to perform other task not described on the current job description.
Requirements
Must possess a University Degree/HND

An active staff or volunteer of the Nigerian Red Cross Society for at least three years in the area of disaster management and/or restoring family links.

Job Title: Branch Communications and PMEAL Officer

Job Purpose
Under the supervision of the Branch Secretary, with technical support of Head of PMER and Communication, the Branch Communications and PMEAL will be responsible for ensuring that the Branch and Divisions have high visibility and promotes the RCRC Movement Fundamental Principles.
The position is also responsible to ensure effective planning, monitoring and reporting on the activities being implemented by the Branch.

The Branch Communications and PMEAL Officer has the following responsibilities:
Design and develop the Branch plan for communication, sensitization and awareness sessions/activities
In liaison with program focal persons, clearly document, visually and short stories on activities implemented at the Branch
Disseminate the NRCS communications policy and provide guidelines at the Branch level regarding engagement with stakeholders and media
Assist the Branch Secretary in developing relevant and timely communication and engagement with media
Working with PMEAL and Communication Heads, establish a functional community Engagement and Accountability framework, with a clear complaints and feedback mechanism
Coordinate and implement regular dissemination activities with volunteers, communities and partners

In consultation with the NHQ, develop and distribute key messages on NRCS to divisions and school units.

The position ensures all health projects and programmes at the branch, whether funded by partners or by the branch, are implemented, monitored and regularly reported on. Job Purpose
Under the guidance of the Branch Secretary and the technical support of the NHQ Director/Coordinator Disaster Management, the Branch Disaster Management Officer is responsible for managing and implementing the overall Disaster Management related matters/activities of the Branch.
The Branch Disaster Management Officer further ensures the status of NRCS as first responder to emergencies is sustained. It is the responsibility of the DMO to coordinate Volunteer Management, including recruitment and retention.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Branch Disaster Management Officer has the following responsibilities:
Develop and implement the Branch Disaster Management (DM) strategy and contingency Plans and Budgets.
Coordinate through the Branch Secretary, the Branch relief operations and DM related activities with the State government, partners, agencies, key stakeholders and other humanitarian actors in the State.
Establish strong collaboration and cooperation with the State Government and other actors in Disaster preparedness and emergency response at States and Division level.
Support the effective stock piling of relief materials at Branch level and follow guidelines and procedures for stock replenishment in collaboration with NHQ DM department.
Ensure development and strengthening of robust emergency/disaster response teams at both Branches and Divisions in collaboration with Health, WASH/Shelter and other relevant Departments.
Ensure DM activities are conducted in accordance with the NRCS code of conduct and principle of transparency and accountability.
Establish an efficient and motivated team of volunteers, and establish systems to ensure retention and capacity building of the volunteers.
Ensure regular and accurate record of all volunteers are stored into the VDBM
Undertake regular assessment on emergency response and offer efforts to mobilize assistance internally from NRCS stock and/or from external source including Movement partners.

Support the Branch Secretary and Program Officers in developing annual branch budgets
Provide monthly and quarterly financial reports on branch finances to the Branch Executive Committee and NHQ

Job Purpose
Under the guidance of the Branch Executive Committee and the Secretary General, Branch Secretary will be responsible for ensuring that Society is strategically and effectively positioned as key Partner and Partner of Choice to the State Government, Movement Partners and other humanitarian partners in the State.
This is done through a well-coordinated approach in service delivery to the communities within the State in line with their identified needs and priorities.
He/She is also responsible for the growth and management of Programmes within the State.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Branch Secretary has the following responsibilities:
Manage the branch office, its personnel, volunteers and members on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the Statutes and regulations of the National Society.
Initiate and organize the Red Cross activities within the State in line with the National Society Strategic plan, objectives and policies.
Keep the National Headquarters, its relevant coordinators and branch board members regularly updated on all activities.
Coordinate through the Secretary General all international partnerships or internationally funded programmatic activities.
In the event of an emergency ensure effective and timely response, and keep the National Headquarters regularly updated on the evolution of the crisis and response to enable a coordinated national or regional approach.
Supervise and monitor the activities of the Divisions and through Divisional Coordinators the activities at the Community level.
Ensure compliance with all legal obligations and promptly inform the Secretary General of any legal risk or liability affecting the National Society and coordinate all response to same through the Secretary General.
Abide by and enforce all National Society policies, rules and procedures particularly those affecting the fundamental principles, emblem and code of conduct.
Organize local fund-raising activities and other income generating activities for the Branch with the approval of the National Headquarters.
Expand the membership and ensure the effective collection of membership dues.
Liaise with the State Government, Movement partners and other agencies to ensure the smooth running of the Branch and its operations.
Ensure the safety and maintenance of the Branch property including all relevant documents.
Prepare the Branch budget with advice of the Branch Finance and Planning Adviser
Prepare accounts for auditing.
Send quarterly and annual financial and narrative reports to the National Headquarters and branch board members

Coordinate risks mapping and vulnerability capacity assessment activities to plan prepare, respond and mitigate disaster impacts
In consultation with the NHQ ensure effective resource mobilisation strategies, prepare and submit funding proposals according to donor requirements to supplement local budget allocations. Lead on robust income generating activities for branch sustainability.
