Minister of State for Education, Prof Anthony Nwajiuba, has said after all pleas, there is no show of conscience on the ruling APC for South-East candidate.

Newsonline reports that Anthony Nwajiuba, one of the aspirants for in the build up to the APC primary election has lamented how the ruling All Progressive congress neglected the pleas of Igbo party members without show of conscience.

Prof. Nwajiuba revealed all top Igbo APC members and aspirants wrote ‘a soul touching’ to the leadership of the ruling party for Southern candidate and moved further for South-East in particular following the glaring call for equity and fairness.

“I and other aspirants now of the south East, wrote the leadership of our party to appreciate the commitment to move the presidential ticket to the south, and requested a further deepening to the southeast to reflect our primary reason for seeking the office, which remains, ‘to build a more united and inclusive secured and prosperous nation’.

“But our pleas for Justice, or need to constitutionally require it, failed in the face of the absence of conscience.”

Nwajiuba said he could have used his youthful zeal to make inciting statement that would have caused more security problem, but chose to be modest.

“I chose to take the tedious path of following the law, meeting requirements and staying disciplined, in other to sell a paradigm of same.

” If I had shouted same in a more youthful voice, it may have become inciteful in face of our current security difficulties in the southeast and may thus spite our efforts.”

Professor Nwajiuba said not only has the ruling APC spited on their pleas for equity, it also ignored the call by elders of Nigeria for Ndigbo to be given a shot at the presidency.

“Even their elderly wailing on national television could not move a vote, following the failure of all these entreaties, it became clear that the convention was headed away from these lofty ideals.”

Newsonline had reported that the ruling All Progress Congress today, (Wednesday), announced former governor of Lagos state, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, as its presidential candidate for the 2023 general election.
