Ahead of the AFCON 2025 qualifier, Okoye has stressed that the match against Benin Republic is a must-win, declaring that only victory will suffice.

Newsonline Nigeria reports that Maduka Okoye has stressed the importance of the Super Eagles starting their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign with a strong performance.

The team will host Benin Republic at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Saturday, and securing a win is seen as crucial.

The Super Eagles have struggled recently, with only one victory in their last five matches, making this game vital for their campaign.

Okoye emphasized that the Super Eagles need to give their all to secure a victory against the Cheetahs.

“It’s crucial that we win, as this is a key AFCON qualifier,” the Udinese goalkeeper told reporters.

“We must perform at our best and reach our highest level of play.

“Ultimately, the most important thing is securing a win for the team and for Nigeria.”
